Heritage informed placemaking.
Our Ethos.
For most people trying to get a project off the ground, the word heritage sends a chill up their spine. Heritage is viewed as prestigious, fragile and scarce, as expensive, time consuming, challenging and, let's be honest, pretentious.

Know Your Place sees heritage through a placemaking and planning lens. We see opportunity, enhancement, integration, and how heritage places, and intangible heritage add social, environmental and economic benefit to a project.

Responsible, community focused heritage outcomes can be the X factor in a project and, more importantly, can increase the well being of residents. Because ultimately, heritage is all about the human connection to a place, and the stories imbedded in it.
Know Your Place provides down to earth advice for people who want to see heritage incorporated into the future in a meaningful and aspirational way.
